The Legal Learning Podcast

So you’ve decided you want to be a lawyer. Great! So now what?

Obviously Law School, but there is so much more to your legal journey than just getting in and passing the bar.

In case you haven’t heard it yet, there is an amazing podcast that strives to help students save time, money and stress on their legal journey with strategies that begin in college and extend through law school. Through their own knowledge and expert guests, The Legal Learning Podcast teaches listeners how to avoid student loans, how to take better care of yourself, how to be successful from the minute they start law school, how to succeed even with mental health issues, learning differences or children. And learn when it might be time to quit.

If this type of resource had been available to me when I started law school, I may not have racked up $200,000 in student loan debt. But then I also may not have developed systems to pay it off and help others do the same (which I love) so definitely a silver lining.

During my time as a guest on The Legal Learning Podcast I shared my own legal journey on how I was able to make the switch from making a large salary in Biglaw to taking a 50% pay cut to work for the government and then taking an even larger one to exit law completely.

Listen to the full episode to hear my take on:

  • The first thing you really need to do in order to be ready to make the change

  • Reasons why you may not actually be living your life

  • How to get over the stigma of being a lawyer with “money problems”

  • Best ways to navigate student loans as a new law student

  • The one mistake I often see current lawyers make

  • Making the best choices for retirement as a college student

  • My biggest tip for pre-law students!
