Let’s Talk About Career Transitions

If you’ve never heard of Annie Little, you’re missing out. She is a spunky, realist lawyer and career transition expert. She has been coaching other lawyers on career transitions since 2012 and making big moves with her company, JD Nation, LLC.

Annie came to despise going to work as an attorney every day, but her inner pride needed to prove she could be successful no matter the cost. It wasn’t until she started a family that she realized the toll of being unhappy was taking on her physical and mental health. She made her escape. Now she coaches other lawyers on how to break free and find meaningful work in law or elsewhere.

In true Annie form, she wasted no time in getting straight to the point with answers to questions we get from clients all the time.

What’s the biggest thing people are worried about when they start to think about making a career transition? Salary negotiations! Our 45-minute chat flew by as Annie gave us her best tips for getting the dollar amount you want. What are three of her biggest tips?

  1. Have confidence

  2. Know your floor

  3. Do your research

While base salary is important, there are so many perks employers can provide that go above your fixed take-home dollar amount...you just have to be willing to ask. Weighing financial and non-monetary benefits/drawbacks is crucial to making a good decision for you and your situation.

Annie has helped hundreds of lawyers with their career transitions. In her experience, what type of person is happiest when their transition is all said and done? Watch the full video to find out, it could be you!
